HuiMin'sWe woke up in the morning as usual. But this time, it was the last morning, the last day in Perth! All of us took turns to bathe. After having our nice shower, we had our last breakfast together in the apartment. Finishing in about 15 minutes, we went to pack our stuff. During the past few days, we had bought lots of stuff and thus we had to force everything into our luggages and handcarries. Soon it was time to gather downstairs to meet the others. We cleared all the leftover food and did our last check to ensure that nothing is left behind. Assured that nothing was left behind, we carried our luggages down and checked out of the hotel, proceeding to Guilderton.
When we reached there, the weather was extremely cold. It was so windy; wind was blowing into our faces. We went for a cruise along the river. The cruise lasted for about thirty minutes before we headed for the sand dunes. We had difficulties climbing up the sand dune because it was steep. Climbing up was just like a physical challenge for us. Finally we reached the top. At the top, we took lots of photos together. The best part was when we slided down on a board. It was really fun as you slide down but if we wanted to try again, we'll have to climb all the way up again. But thanks to Anthon, we came up much easier as he created steps for us to climb up!
After all that fun, we had our barbecue lunch by the seaside, though we didnt get to really barbecue the food ourselves. The breeze was really strong and so we ate with our food flying out of our plates once in a while. We had a quick lunch and off we went to Perth Institute Of Contemporary Arts known as PICA.
PICA was a very huge art gallery and over there, we got to see lots of art pieces. These art pieces were very different from the usual art we always think about as painting. These artpieces could be made of anything. It could be car parts, toys or even just chairs. We learnt about installation art too. It was really a pity that we were not allowed to take photos of the magnificent art works. This type of art was really interesting as we had to interpret to understand what the artist is really trying to say. Due to the different perspective points of view we have, there could be many different messages that the artist could be giving us. This type of art is really interesting and it really acquires lots of thinking and creativity instead of colouring skills.
After the visit at PICA, it was time for our night shopping! We went to two shopping centres. During the night shopping, we had the chance to buy souvenirs. We also ate ice creams together. We were also able to buy other things that were not available back in Singapore. Though, we had to rush as we had not enough time, and at the end of night shopping, we were almost broke. Time really flies and soon we were sent to the airport. We thanked our driver Anthon for the good service he provided.
Throughout the past few days, we really had a great time. For all of us, it was like a once in a lifetime opportunity. Of course, we missed our families but overall, it was a very special learning experience that we will treasure forever. It was time well- invested. Goodbye Perth!
